| Description |
MATERIALS: Cotton cloth, cotton threads, mirrors, buttons, beads and tassels.
CONSTRUCTION: Hand and machine stitched, beadwork jali, embroidered: Square chain, cretan, interlaced, herringbone, detached chain and buttonhole filling stitches.
MOTIFS: Kangri, makodiyun, limbudi tak, bawaliyun, kagda tak na dhabiya, phuli, tak bawaliyun, ardho dhabo, deri and kachbo phul.
COLOURS : Multicoloured on black and red. on one side and orange on other.
STYLE REMARKS: Dhebaria Rabari batuvo generally has pointed or three pointed end. Note that pockets face each other so that nothing falls out when it is closed.
CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: The batuvo is folded and tucked into the waist. It was used by both men and women at ceremonial occasions to carry tobacco, pan, change.
CULTURAL REMARKS: Such pieces have not been in use since the early 1970's.
