MATERIALS: Cotton cloth. CONSTRUCTION: Bandhani, chemical dyed. MOTIFS: Simple line borders with centre divided into diagonal grid. Squares of grid are filled with circular motifs and divided into four squares. COLOURS :Red and white on black. STYLE REMARKS: Bandhani is used by many communities, particularly Ahirs. The red black and white combination is common to many communities. CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: It matches and it is part of MSC-41 GODADI CULTURAL REMARKS: Bandhani is considered auspiceous by many communities. Oshikun. |
